This page describes what Typing Games collects, why, and what happens to it. It applies to every visitor, whether or not you create an account.
Who this service is for
Typing Games is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Our own account data shows our users are teenagers and adults in secondary and tertiary education. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
What we collect
If you create an account:
- Your email address and a hashed password (we never store your password itself).
- Your name, and optionally a birthday and contact number if you add them in Settings.
- Your typing history: every practice run, test, duel and game result, including the full keystroke timing log for each one. This is not incidental — it is how scores are verified. See About for why.
If you use the free typing test without an account, nothing is stored. The result exists only in your browser for that one session.
For everyone, whether signed in or not: standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamp, the page requested) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention, and cookies as described below.
If you're a student in a class
A teacher who adds you to their class can see your practice history, scores and progress within that class. They cannot see your password, and they cannot see activity in classes you're not enrolled in.
Cookies and advertising
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the site to function and carries no advertising data.
Typing Games is supported in part by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads, which may be based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Ads never appear on the typing tests or games themselves — only on surrounding pages — specifically so a third-party script never has a chance to interfere with a run being measured.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal data. We don't share your typing history outside your own account and, if applicable, your teacher's view of your class. We don't run third-party analytics beyond what's needed to keep ads and the site itself working.
How long we keep it
Account and attempt data is kept for as long as the account exists, so your progress stays available to you. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time — see the contact address below.
Your rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To do so, email us with your account's registered address so we can verify the request.
