Typing Games

Free typing tutor · the whole thing, no account needed

Lessons, duels, and a couple of gunfights.

An honest typing tutor wearing an arcade cabinet. A lesson ladder that gates on real mastery, 1v1 duels where both sides race the same words, and three arcade games — a horde that never stops, a boss every 10th wave, and a gunslinger duel with a real draw — with every single run replayed and verified on the server, so a leaderboard actually means something. Play every bit of it right now with no sign up; register only when you want it remembered, and if your teacher has a class going, a join code drops you straight into it.

The full thing — lessons, duels, and the arcade.

Everything below opens with no sign up. What's animated in the game previews is the actual game art, not a mockup — the same sprites the real games bake and draw, just looping for the preview.

Zombie Defense & Survival

Type the word, the shot lands. Defense is a fixed 400-word run everyone faces identically, so two scores are actually comparable. Survival has no finish line at all — a boss guards every 10th wave and gets tougher each time, and the pace never stops climbing.

Wild West Shootout

High noon on a dusty street. You and a rival type the same word — first to finish it shoots. Clean streaks charge a super move with its own slow-motion cinematic, and a perfectly-typed counter can shut it down before it lands.

The lesson ladder

Starts at the home row and builds up finger by finger, key cluster by key cluster. Each lesson gates on real accuracy and speed, not on clicking through it once, so a mastered lesson actually means something. Playing as a guest keeps your progress right in this browser — register later and it starts tracking for real.

Why it's not just another typing test

Built to be hard to fake and worth learning from

01

Learn it properly, not just faster

The lesson ladder is built around mastery gates: you move up a level when your speed and accuracy on it actually clear the bar, not when you've clicked through it once. Each drill targets a specific finger pattern or key cluster, building from the home row up.

02

Duels and a real bracket, not just solo runs

1v1 races against a classmate or a stranger, and a seeded Round-of-16 bracket that starts the moment you join — real opponents if any are online, CPUs filling whatever's left after a short wait, advancing itself all the way to a champion. No account needed to jump in.

03

Every run is verified, not trusted

The client never gets to report a score. Every keystroke — timing, character, backspace — is logged and sent to the server, which replays the whole thing and recomputes words-per-minute, accuracy and consistency from scratch. A client that claims a faster time than the replay supports gets flagged, not ranked. That's what makes a class leaderboard worth looking at.

04

For teachers, when there's a class involved

A teacher creates a class, imports a roster or shares a join code, and gets a live view of who's practising and who's stuck on the same three keys. Reviewers turn a pasted lesson into a typing session students can take directly. Tournaments run themselves once started — no manually pairing every round.
